Banneker Elementary School

Project Description

Carew Associates provided electrical design for a new 62,500 square foot elementary school. The school included a gymnasium, library, mechanical room, administration and cafeteria. Along with power distribution and lighting; the electrical designs included a public address system, clock and program system, point addressable fire alarm system and emergency power system. As a team member, we coordinated with another engineering firm that performed the HVAC design.

In a separate project administered by Carew Associates, we designed and specified a security system and network systems wiring for data, voice over UTP and video over UTP.  The network system included Category 6 wiring, outlets and patch panels.  A fiber backbone was also specified.  The security system included CCTV cameras, card readers and door contacts.
